Crockett has been taking photographs ever since winning her first
turquoise-colored box camera at a Coney Island penny arcade at the
age of eleven. She graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in
Fine Arts. Crockett spent many years doing street photography while
taking courses at the School of Visual Arts and the Westchester
Arts Workshop.From 2001-2004, Crockett was a staff photographer
for The Journal News weekly publications. Prior to that, she worked
as a freelancer for The Riverdale Press in the Bronx. She was awarded
an honorable mention for art photo in the New York Press Association
2002 Better Newspaper Contest. She placed third in the 1970 Japanese
Camera Club Contest in New York City. She has exhibited at the Greenburgh
Nature Center and received an honorable mention in the 43rd annual
art exhibit sponsored by the Hastings Woman's Club in 1996.
